Flood restoration work underway
Work to restore multiple roads damaged in the recent flash flooding in Sullivan and Lycoming counties began Tuesday.
The contractor began working on Elk Creek Road in Fox Township, Sullivan County, repairing the roadway, shoulder and structures along the road.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers providing traffic control during work hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Other roads included in this project include Route 4008 in Elkland Township, Sullivan County, Hoppestown Road in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County, and Ellenton Mountain Road in McNett Township, Lycoming County.
This project is expected to be completed in mid-December, weather permitting.
Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. is the prime contractor on the $334,000 project.
