Lester C. Fry

Lester C. Fry, 74, of Trout Run, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at the Williamsport Hospital surrounded by his family. He was married to Donna (Houseknecht) Fry on Aug. 4, 1978, and together they shared 38 years of marriage.

Born Oct. 19, 1942, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Arthur Fry and Helen Alwine.

A graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Lester was self-employed for many years as the owner and operator of Fry’s General Construction. He later retired from Forcine Concrete and had worked recently as a rural paper carrier delivering the daily news of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

Lester attended Liberty Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking trips to the casino. One of his favorite past times was watching his grandchildren play ball.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ronald Fry, of Maryland; three daughters, Heather (Dale) Seagraves, of Danville, Lindsey (Gordon) Phillips, of Marsh Hill, Victoria Engle, of Howard; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, James (Phyllis) Fry, of New Oxford; and two sisters, Linda Hockensmith, of Fla. and Shirley Kuhns, of Md.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Fry.

In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
