The Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s 28th Infantry Division Band provided a musical evening for local residents with a free concert at the community Arts Center Tuesday. Sponsored by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, the event provided an assortment of movie themed numbers ranging from “Top Gun” to “Back to the Future,” and ending with “Stars and Stripes Forever.” The band is Pennsylvania’s oldest music performance group with a history of uninterrupted service of more than 60 years. It was organized as part of the 28th Infantry Division Headquarters Company prior to World War II when the 109th, 110th and 112th Infantry Bands were dissolved.
