School board makes personnel changes
JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Area School Board voted unanimously to adopt various personnel changes during its school board meeting on Monday.
The board approved the following appointments:
• Terry Younkin, part time food service position at the senior high school, at a rate of $9.90 an hour.
• Kim Zell as a bus driver with Marden’s, Inc.
• Granting tenure to Sheena Ambruster, child care teacher.
• Granting tenure to Melissa Rogers, family consumer science teacher.
In the same vote, the board approved the letter of resignation from Kara Henry, reading aide at Salladasburg Elementary School, effective Sept. 10.
Voting yes were members Karen Stover, Denise Smith, Kelley Wasson, Merrill Sweitzer, Craig Allen, Mary Thomas and Christopher Fravel. Members David Hines and Loren Koch were absent.
At the next school board meeting, the board will be voting on a potential salary schedule of district coaches as recommended by the board sports committee, which consists of members Fravel, Wasson and Thomas.
The next school board meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the district service center, 175 A and P Drive.
