2 bridges replaced in Lycoming County
The Route 414 bridge spanning Callahan Run in Jersey Mills, McHenry Township, and the Route 15 bridge, in Clinton Township, which spans Black Hole Creek, were reopened on Friday as a part of the state Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
Both were on the state’s deficent bridge list.
The Callahan Run bridge is now designed with a 100-year lifespan and features a longer and wider crossing.
In November, contractors will apply a polyester polymer concrete overlay to the Route 15 bridge to protect it from winter damage and help reduce maintenance costs.
An alternating traffic pattern controlled by flaggers will help direct traffic when the overlay is applied.
