Juvenile charged for shooting window with pellet gun in Newberry
A 15-year-old Williamsport boy was taken into custody Tuesday night for shooting out a window with a pellet gun in the 900 block of Arch Street, city police said.
Officers were talking with a group of youths on Arch Street about 8:30 p.m. when a passerby told the police that one of the teens in the group had shot out a window at a nearby house minutes ago, a police supervisor said Wednesday.
The teen responsible was identified and taken to police headquarters, the department spokesman said, adding that officers also recovered from the boy a pellet gun.
“He will be petitioned into juvenile court on a charge of criminal mischief and possibly other offenses,” the spokesman said, adding that the teen was later released.
