District will stay below its Act 1 index

MUNCY — The Muncy School Board unanimously passed a resolution Monday to ensure the district remains under its state mandated tax index limit.

In order to raise taxes above the index, the board would have needed to pass its preliminary budget in January.

The board also accepted a number of donations Monday — $125 of books from Bonnie Wisowaty in memory of her parents Jim and Wanda Lee, $1,000 for a district athletic program from Koppers Inc., Susquehanna plant and $600 for interscholastic academic competition from McInroy-Sheffer People Trust.

Voting to approve these actions were Connie Coyner, Ty Fry, Scott McLean, Rhondel Moyle, Justin Reis, Lisa Sleboda, Robert Titman, Kim Walker and Sarah Woodward.

The following athletics coaches also were approved:

• Jordan King, volunteer wrestling coach

• Courtney Johnson, volunteer elementary wrestling coach

• George Walters, volunteer elementary wrestling coach

• Joe Tedesco, head varsity softball coach

• Dale Michael, first assistant baseball coach

• Zach Wallace, second assistant baseball coach

• Ellen Dincher, assistant varsity boys tennis coach

• Jason Gresh, head varsity boys soccer coach

Voting to approve the athletic appointments were Coyner, Fry, McLean, Reis, Sleboday, Titman, Walker and Woodward. Voting no was Moyle.

The board will meet next at 7 p.m. on Feb. 19.
