Woodward Township seeks to comply with flood plan requirements

LINDEN–Woodward Township’s Board of Supervisors voted to authorize Zoning Officer Gary Knarr to review and sign a municipal floodplain management consistency report, which is required in conjunction with proposed work on the new Route 220 corridor.

Because the construction includes bridges and arch culverts, the township must verify that the work will comply with its flood plain ordinances.

Knarr also was asked by the board to research if a proposed railroad communication tower, which would be located across from the West Fourth Street interchange along the Antler’s Bridge, would interfere with any historical sites in the area.

In other actions, the board voted to send township Secretary Judy Carpenter to the Tioga-Bradford Equipment Show in June and to pay the expense of her trip.

The board also announced that the state Department of Transportation has notified the township of the bridges that will be included in this year’s inspection. They are: T-367, Yerger Road; T-369, East New Road and T-375, Turkey Path Road. All bridges are over Quenshuckeny Run.

The next meeting of the board will be at 7 p.m. April 18 at the township building, 4910 S. Route 220.
