City seeks survey takers
The city needs city residents who’ve been impacted by Grafius Run over the past 10 years to fill out flood-damage surveys.
The request was among the most important items discussed Tuesday by City Council’s public works committee, said Councilman Joel Henderson, committee chairman.
The purpose of the surveys are to calculate the estimated loss caused by the flooding of Grafius Run, he said. The city is interested in the state Department of Environmental Protection doing a study of the northern part of Grafius Run and people need to fill out the survey in order to get a full accounting of the damages.
“We’re asking the department to look at it,” Henderson said. “We don’t have to make any commitment.”
Recently, the city planning department began to distribute the survey. It also can be picked up at the department on the second floor at City Hall.
It is estimated more than 270 or more residents are in the impact zone, according to Chelsea Myers, city planning director.
