Secret Garden Tour to benefit Way’s Garden

The Way’s Garden Commission is planning its annual Secret Garden Tour on Sept. 8 to benefit the park at Maynard and West Fourth streets.

“We will be featuring seven very nice gardens in the Williamsport area on that Saturday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.,” said Bob Esposito, commission chairman.

Ideas for individual gardens will be shared while on the tour, which is intended to raise money for the continuing restoration of Way’s Garden.

The garden’s most recent venture is a pavilion, Esposito said.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the park the day of the event. The day of the event, they will be exchanged for booklets with the addresses of the gardens on the tour.

In the event of rain, tickets and booklets may be obtained at the Thomas T. Taber Museum and the new Backhouse Cafe Coffee Shop across the garden on West Fourth Street.
