Montoursville’s Mike Mussina elected to Baseball Hall of Fame
Montoursville native Mike Mussina is now enshrined with baseball’s greatest players in Cooperstown, N.Y.
The former New York Yankee and Baltimore Orioles pitcher received 76.7 percent of the vote and joined Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, Edgar Martinez, Lee Smith and Harold Baines as members of the Class of 2019.
Mussina retired in 2008 after going 20-8, becoming the oldest first-time 20-game winner at the age of 39. Mussina ended his career with a record of 270-153. He had 2,813 strikeouts in 18 seasons with Baltimore and New York.
