Watch out for the ice

Winter weather advisory issued for Wednesday

Wednesday morning likely could turn treacherous for driving and walking.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 p.m.

Freezing rain and sleet is expected, with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch throughout Central Pennsylvania.

The ice will result in difficult travel conditions on untreated roads, forcasters warn.

As the day goes on, the air temperature should rise and the precipitation should turn to rain.

But road conditions will remain icy all day, as will sidewalks and parking lots.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorists to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roads.
