Millard seeks council seat

Shawn Millard has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for DuBoistown Borough Council in the spring primary.

Millard is employed by Muncy Industries as a purchasing manager.

“I have had the honor to be part of a team at Muncy Industries where we were able to decrease costs significantly since 2008,” he said. “During my time with Muncy Industries I was able to see the company grow 10 times its size. I was also part of developing two other manufacturing facilities, one in Kansas City and one in Louisiana. I currently oversee two buyers and three shipping managers at these locations.”

Millard has been involved with a number of organizations, including the South Williamsport Youth Football & Cheer Organization, St. Boniface Church Crossroads Church Mission Team, Cigars for Warriors, and a non-profit service program for those with addiction issues.

He is an auxiliary member of the Leroy Buck Veterans of Forgotten Wars Post 7863 and the National Rifle Association.

“I believe my past work experiences and volunteer involvement have prepared me to work with people in a variety of settings, diagnose problems, find solutions to issues, and listen to the concerns of others, all skills that would allow me to serve on borough council,” he said.

Millard resides in DuBoistown with his wife, Heather, and three children.
