Star Poole has announced she is seeking the Democratic nomination for Williamsport Area School Director in the spring primary.

Poole attended Philadelphia Community College and Pennsylvania College of Technology and plans to re-enroll there this summer.

A seven-year-resident of Lycoming County, she serves on the board of The Heart of Williamsport, Beloved Community Council and North-Central Pennsylvania’s Alternatives to Violence.

“My lifelong thirst for learning and my understanding of the difficulties many families face in our community are what motivate me to run for school board director,” she said. “My desire is to have a bigger impact on my children’s education, as well as to help motivate other members of the community to become involved in our children’s schools.”

Poole is the mother of five children, including three enrolled in Cochran Primary School in the Williamsport Area School District.
