Landfill truck to get $54,000 remodel

The Lycoming County commissioners approved several agreements totaling over $99,000 for Resource Management Services at their meeting Thursday.

The first was a purchase agreement with Eagle Truck Equipment Inc. for truck body modifications for a 2012 Mack Titan truck tractor in the amount of $53,742.

The modifications will allow the truck to be used for drop off purposes, as it has sat unused since the department ended its mobile tub grinding services.

The next was also a purchase agreement for undercarriage parts from Woods CRW Corporation for $39,265. The purchase was within the budget.

The final agreement was for professional services from Dell Marketing L.P. to provide updates and maintenance for the department’s Solomon software, which Director Jason Yorks referred to as “the backbone of the business.” The contract costs $6,135 for the year plus a $168 per hour labor agreement.

All purchases for Resource Management Services are made using landfill revenue, Yorks has said.

The commissioners also approved a $43,704 agreement with Select Security to install building access security, including a camera system and controls, throughout the court house. The agreement covers all exterior entrances, security entrances, the front and rear elevator and several other rooms and offices.

In another matter, the commissioners approved the creation of three new positions — two part-time central processing officers in the district attorney’s office and a full-time veterans affairs assistant.

Voting were Commissioners Jack McKernan, Tony Mussare and Rick Mirabito. The next meeting is slated for 10 a.m. Tuesday in Executive Plaza.
