State official to address upcoming NAACP dinner

Brandon Flood, secretary of the state Board of Pardons, will be the keynote speaker at the Lycoming Tri-County NAACP dinner Sept. 26, at the Genetti Hotel.

“Fresh Start: From Prison to Pardon to Prosperity” will feature Flood’s rise from his criminal past.

The Harrisburg native spent eight years in state prison for drug dealing and firearms arrests.

His criminal activity began in middle school while selling marijuana.

After prison, he found work as a legislative aide and eventually as a lobbyist.

He was appointed by Lt. Gov. John Fetterman to the Board of Pardons earlier this year.

The dinner is set for 6:30 p.m. with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

The event is $35 per person.
