East Lycoming school board down members from two regions
HUGHESVILLE — The East Lycoming Township School board voted to accept the resignation of board member Kristy Creasy at their meeting Tuesday night. Creasy’s resignation leaves the board down two members, one each in the first and second regions.
The board will now advertise for applicants to fill the vacancy in the second region. The vacancy in the first region will be filled by the winner in next month’s election.
According to Michael Pawlik, district superintendent, the resignations were the result of board members moving to another region within the district and not from moving out of the district.
During his report, Pawlik asked for board approval for the district to host a PM Exchange through the Chamber of Commerce sometime early next year in order to feature the district’s Innovations Center. Cost to the district would be $150. Pawlik said that he would contact the Chamber of Commerce to schedule the event.
Under personnel items, the board approved the resignations of Jacob Golbitz as the boys’ varsity tennis head coach and Teri Woodling as the assistant girls’ varsity softball coach. Woodling will remain as a volunteer until the end of the 2019/20 season. The board also accepted the resignation of Nicole Hill as a supervisory aide at Ashkar Elementary.
Brian Anstadt’s coaching re-appointment to Junior High head coach instead of assistant coach, which had been previously approved, was approved by the board. Anstadt will be paid $4,919 for the position.
The board also approved the additions of Francis Pagana and Katherine Spagnuolo to the substitute teacher list for the current school year.
Board members present at the meeting were: Richard Michael, Richard Bradley, Donna Gavitt, Michael Mamrak, Karen Berger, Lisa McClintock and Robert Heckrote.
The next board meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the high school board room, 349 Cemetery St.
