Earl Heyler, 94, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. Born on Feb. 19, 1918 in Nauvoo, he was the son of Elmer and Alta (Young) Heyler. He was preceded in death by his wife Freda (Maneval) Heyler on March 14, 2010. Earl was a 1936 graduate of Liberty High School. He was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and served many years as a Sunday school teacher.
Earl loved working outdoors on the family dairy farm. He enjoyed hunting, cutting wood and making maple syrup.
Earl is survived by his four children, Kenneth (Susan) of Nauvoo, John (Susan) of Nauvoo, Gene (Tina) of Columbia, Md., and Margie (John) Harendza, of Binghamton, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Kyle Heyler, Rebecca (Joshua) White, Bethany (Stephen) Shrodo, Timothy Heyler, Tami (Matthew) Guillaume, Adam Heyler and Paul Heyler; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Heyler (Dorna) of Westfield, Frederick Heyler (Joanne) of Nauvoo; sisters, Mary (James) Reed, Watsontown and Margaret Raker, Liberty. Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Romayn.
Friends and family are invited to Earl’s Life Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul-Nauvoo United Methodist Church. Funeral to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Harmic officiating. Burial in Salem-St. Paul Cemetery.
