Edgar R. Lowe
Edgar R. Lowe, 75, of South Williamsport, died, Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
Born April 22, 1937, in Williamsport, he was the son of Raymond C. and Mildred C. (Edgar) Lowe.
He was a 1955 graduate of South Williamsport High School, attended Lycoming College and graduated from the American Institute of Baking in 1963. Ed retired after working for Stroehmann Bakeries for 38 years in various capacities including vice president and roll plant manager.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church, where he had served as an elder and also Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Christian Business Men’s Committee where he had served as a chairperson. Ed enjoyed carpentry, model trains and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lucille (Askey) Lowe; three daughters, Julie B. Stine (Mike) of Dillsburg, Diane M. Threehouse (David) of Avis and Amy E. Woodley (Dwight) of South Williamsport; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Katelynn, Derek, Danielle, Corey, Tyler, McKenna; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia R. Radziewicz (Robert) of Hainesport, N.J.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Community Baptist Church, 1853 Rte. 87 Highway, Montoursville. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
