Edmund Ball

Edmund “Ed” Ball, 91, of 111 N. Washington St., Muncy, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born Oct. 5, 1921, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Pearl (High) Ball. On May 4, 1960, he married the former Lula A. Short, who survives. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Ed served in the U.S. Air Force as acting Sergeant in Okinawa during World War II. He later worked for 32 years as a mixer operator at Interstate Amiesite in Muncy.

He was a former member of Barto Hollow Hunting Club, Hughesville. Ed loved hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family. He was fond of animals, especially cats and dogs. Ed also enjoyed fixing electronics, cars, televisions, etc.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son and daughter-in-law, Edmund L. and Sarah Ball of Hughesville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lena B. and Gregory Moyer and Connie K. and David Blaker, all of Muncy, and Leona A. and Terry Blaker of Hughesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Ann Ball of Gettysburg; 10 grandchildren, Michael Blaker, Joshua Blaker, Adam Blaker and wife Monica, Amanda Blaker, Takoda Moyer, Sehya Moyer, Hody Moyer, Gregory Moyer and wife Christie, Brian Moyer and wife Jerrie, and Jennifer Harsh; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his foster parents who raised him, Irvin M. and Pearl (Dewald) Foust; five brothers and five sisters.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at noon. Officiating will be Pastor Max L. Walters Jr., of Lairdsville Faith Church.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Lycoming Children & Youth, 200 East St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
