Joseph Brian Bacon
Joseph Brian Bacon, 37, loving husband and best friend of Erica, and proud father of Jordan and Joey, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1975, in Williamsport, he was a son of Richard W. Sr. and Emma (Gair) Bacon.
Joe was a 1995 graduate of Williamsport High School, where he had been a member of the 1995 PA State Runner-Up Basketball Team. He had worked at Lezzer Lumber Commercial Door for the last eight years, where he currently was a supervisor. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Joe was a proud and loving daddy to his boys, teaching them, playing with them, and coaching them at Newberry Little League. They would always be playing ball, chasing fire trucks, or watching the Eagles and Mets. Joe loved being at their home caring for his family and being together with Erica sitting on their porch drinking coffee and also being with “his girls” Maggie and Daisy.
Joe was always there to help anybody, anytime, for anything they needed done, and even until the end would say “I Love You So Much.”
Surviving are his wife and best friend of 13 years, Erica M. (Praster) Bacon; his two sons, Jordan Ryan Bacon and Joseph William Bacon, both at home; his mother, Emma of Williamsport; a sister, Jeanine Bacon of Williamsport;, six brothers Richard Jr., Bob, Harvey, Luke and Mike Bacon, all of Williamsport, and David Bacon of Muncy; mother-in-law, Debra Praster; sisters-in-law, Erin McDermott and Lynnsey Doane, all of Williamsport; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard W. Bacon Sr. in 2008 and a niece, Molly Bacon.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Christian Church of Cogan Station, 5904 Lycoming Creek Road, Cogan Station, with Pastor Mark A. Beard officiating (there will be no visitation on Thursday). Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Joe’s memory be made to Jordan and Joey Bacon, and mailed to Service First Federal Credit Union, 814 Westminster Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.
