Annette Selleck, 91, formerly of South Williamsport, Muncy Valley and Waterloo, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at ManorCare in Jersey Shore where she had been a guest since moving back in this area in 2009.
She was born March 29, 1921, in Gault, Ontario (now Cambridge), a daughter of Ralph J. and Sara M. (Haist) Kocher.
Annette was a 1939 graduate of South Williamsport High School.
Her first husband, Russell L. Spinney, passed away in March of 1961 and her second husband, Ronald L. Selleck passed in April of 1988.
She was a talented antique doll restorationist and many of her works are on display at historical societies. She was a noted basket merchant, having operated her business in South Williamsport, Muncy Valley and Waterloo, N.Y.
At one time she was an active member in the United Methodist Church and the Williamsport Players.
Annette enjoyed oil painting, gems and minerals, reading, collecting seashells and stamps, also loved gardening and flower beds.
Her survivors include, two sons, Ralph (Dr. Carmen) Spinney of Avis and John (Sandra) Spinney of Montville, Maine; one sister, June Laurenson of Tivoli; three grandchildren, Russell (Nicole), Carmen Michelle (Yuri) and John (Michelle) along with five great-grandchildren, Willow, Oakton, Acer, Sequoia and Michael. She also is survived by nieces and nephews.
Annette was predeceased by a brother, Ned and two dear friends, Susan Selleck and Mary Edwards.
In keeping with Annette’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at the Chapel in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Route 15, Montgomery at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, with Rev. Charles Winkelman officiating.
Her family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Susan Selleck Scholarship Fund c/o Lock Haven University, 401 N. Fairview St., Lock Haven, PA 17745.
Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
