Harry R. Raisch

Harry R. “Sam” Raisch passed away peacefully Jan. 29, 2013.

Born in Williamsport on Nov. 7, 1928, he was a son of Charles A. and Emma Kohn Raisch.

Sam was a local area baseball standout eventually playing in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He played and umpired in the West Branch League, was a lifetime member of the Harmonia Club, an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and a Teamster for 38 years, retiring as a terminal manager.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret (Peggy) Knarr Raisch; a brother, Rev. Clair Raisch (Eileen); a sister, Freda Wheeland; sons, Jeff (Shirley), John (Heidi); grandchildren, Michael, Sam and Katie; and great-grandchildren, Destiny and Connor.

He was predeceased by three brothers, William, John and Charles; three sisters, Dolly, Eleanor and Jane; and his grandson, Lance.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be to the Susquehanna Foundation for the benefit of the Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
