Victor Melvin Fremberg

Victor Melvin Fremberg, 80, of Muncy, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Williamsport, the son of Herman Stienhelper and Pauline Fremberg.

Victor was married to the former Joan Weaver, who survives.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Victor was a lifelong member of the Church of the Savior, Lutheran and a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post 104, a member of the Ivy Lodge No. 397 and the Williamsport Consistory.

Victor retired from Sylvania after 38 years of loyal service as a mechanic.

He was a carpenter and woodworker and enjoyed traveling. Victor loved fixing things, doing mechanical and construction projects.

Surviving, besides his wife Joan, are two sons, Robert (Susan) Fremberg of Montgomery and Daniel (Chris) Fremberg of Montoursville; three daughters, Kimberly Ann Fremberg of Williamsport, Diane (Terry Mowery) Peluso of Muncy and Debra (Robert) Shriber of Cogan Station; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Charles) Smith of Williamsport.

He was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, David Peluso.

Relatives and friends are invited to Victor’s Life Celebration beginning with a visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening, Feb. 24, 2013, at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Sarah Hershberger officiating. Interment will be in Montoursville Cemetery with military honors.
