Willard F. ‘Bill’ Wentzel
Willard F. “Bill” Wentzel Sr., 81, DuBoistown, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Rose View Center.
Born November 2, 1931, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Merril and Ruth Rouchenbrod Wentzel.
Bill was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and past Commander of VFW LeRoy O. Buck, Post No. 7863, DuBoistown, a member of the American Legion Post 1, past president of the Lycoming County Veteran Council, and a former volunteer and Chief of the DuBoistown Fire Company. Bill enjoyed crossword puzzles and fishing. He retired from Valley Farms.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years Alice “Arlene” (Schonauer) Wentzel; four children, Cristine Littley (Richard) of Auburndale, Fla., Willard Wentzel Jr. (Tina) of DuBoistown, Jean Mahaffey (Frank, Sr.) of Lock Haven, and David Wentzel (Helen) of Plattsburg, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren, and two great- great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Rishel and Marydella Wentzel.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Burial will be held in Montoursville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Sanders Mortuary.
