Richard Thomas Shadduck

Richard Thomas Shadduck, 82, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his home in Fortson, Ga. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Melton officiating.

Richard was born on April 22, 1930, in Muncy, to the late W. Forrest Shadduck and Elsie E. Manley Shadduck.

Richard retired from Sprout-Waldren and Koppers as a production planner. He was also a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Shadduck served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Richard enjoyed restoring antique cars and belonged to Susquehannock Region, Shikellamy Region, and Allegheny Mt. Region, car clubs, as well as the National AACA.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Scott R. Page. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary L. Confer Shadduck of Fortson, Ga.; two children, daughter Lisa A. Nance (Arrie), son D. Frayer Page (Sharon); one sister, Phyllis Little (James); five grandchildren, Renee Page Moser (Stan), Heidi Wertz (Eric), Christopher Nance (Brittany), Maria Kuntz (Jared), Adam Nance; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
