Jean A. Moore
Jean A. Moore, 88, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Gatehouse.
She was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Jersey Shore, the daughter of Edward L. and Leola D. (Irvin) Clarke.
Jean served in the U.S. Navy for 1 and 1/2 years.
She was the widow of Harry D. Yohe and Earl S. Moore.
Jean graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1942. She was employed at Piper Aircraft for two years as their first female welder until she enlisted in the Navy in 1945.
She retired from Textron Lycoming in 1984. She enjoyed flying with Earl and at one time had her pilot’s license. Jean also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Yohe of Montoursville; two daughters, Amy L. (David) Willits of Rauchtown and Leslie J. (Fredrick P.) Baier of Oval; six granddaughters, Angie, Adrianne, Ashlee, Loren, Andrea and Lindsey; and one grandson, Austin; six great-granddaughters, Savannah, Madison, Alexa, Addison, Avery and Kylie.
Jean was predeceased by four brothers, Larue, Edward, Richard and Buddy Clarke, also two sisters, Vivian Hunter and Betty Sabatino.
Family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Private family services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
