Leslie Ty Mitcheltree

Leslie Ty Mitcheltree, 65, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and formerly of Williamsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 28, 2013, as a result of a motorcycle accident in Pinella County, Fla.

Ty was born on Aug. 27, 1947, the son of Delores M. Biichle Raymond and Theodore J. Mitcheltree. He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Blue.

Ty was an avid biker. He customized numerous motorcycles. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 through 1968. He was very active with The Wounded Warrior Project and his local veterans association. Ty helped many Vietnam veterans obtain the benefits due them.

Also surviving are one son, Tyrone J. Mitcheltree of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Nanette (Michael) Lloyd of St. Petersburg and Jennifer (Marcus) Barber of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Glory Lloyd, Liberty Barber and Promise Barber. He is also survived by one brother, Wayne (Darlene) Mitcheltree, Huntington Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Sandra (Ron) Harris of Penn Yan, N.Y., Bonnie (Jim) Sechler of Montoursville and Darlene (Paul) Ohntrup of Radnor, Pa.

A memorial service will be held on April 21, 2013 in Florida.
