Marie Jane Laubacher

Marie Jane Laubacher, 55, of Montoursville, passed away on April 18, 2013.

The visitations and memorial service will be held at Community Baptist Church, 1853 Route 87, Montoursville, PA 17754. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 22, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24. The memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. April 24. A light dinner will follow the service.

Burial will be private.

Marie was born in Punxsutawney, Pa., on Feb. 9, 1958, to Joe and Geraldine Shields of Brookville. She was raised on a dairy farm with two sisters and one brother. She graduated from Brookville High School in ’76.

Marie married Harold Laubacher Jr. (Butch) of Montoursville, Pa., on April 15, 1986. They had three sons and one daughter. Marie homeschooled all four children, while traveling the country for Butch’s work. All of her children attended college. Butch and Marie were married for 27 years.

Marie attended Clarion University receiving a BS in Medical Technology in ’85. She attended Thomas Jefferson University graduating with a BS in Registered Nursing in ’09. She continued schooling online with Jefferson graduating with an MS for Nurse Practitioner in ’12 . She had recently begun working as a nurse practitioner for GMS.

Marie was a devoted Christian and loving mother who always enjoyed gardening, country life and milking her jersey cow. Her beautiful garden is now beginning to bloom.

Marie is survived by her husband, Butch; her children, Nicholas and Elizabeth Laubacher and their children Wyatt, Joe and Aramis; Daniel and Rebecca Laubacher, Miles Laubacher, and Emerald Laubacher; her mother, Geraldine Shields; her brother, Don Shields; her sisters, Esther Horne and Carol Horne; and many friends.

Marie was a loving and sacrificial mother to her children, and a loyal friend and loving companion to her husband. Her family and friends look forward to their joyful reunion in Heaven, until then she will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Crown Financial Ministries, New Tribes Mission, Christian Aid Mission or Heifer International. The family of Marie Jane Laubacher wishes to thank Community Baptist Church for their love and service. And to thank God for his gift of salvation Jesus Christ which will allow them to all be reunited when God calls them home.
