Donald M. Moore

Donald M. Moore, 88, of Williamsport, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home.

Born Sept. 23, 1924, in Williamsport, he was a son of Marshall M. and Amy S. (Hawk) Moore. He graduated from Williamsport Area High School, Class of 1943.

Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Textron in 1986 after 35 years and was a self-employed mason. Donald was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Edythe (Dadd Sahm) Moore; two sons, David W. (Paula) Moore of Williamsport and Ronald E. (Josie) Sahm of South Williamsport; three daughters, Donna M. (Howard “Chip”) Heiny of Williamsport, Linda E. (Chris) Spencer of Loyalsock, and Joyce R. (Frank) Gair of Williamsport; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Walters) Moore in 1989; two brothers, Gordon and Clifford Moore; and two sisters, Mildred Robbins and Bernice Cohick.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 W. Third St., Williamsport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Donald’s name may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 911 W. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
