George Thomas Graybill
George T. Graybill Sr., of South Williamsport, died on May 16, 2013, at the age of 71, while at home with his family after a courageous struggle with prostate cancer.
George was born on April 8, 1942, in Williamsport. He was the son of the late Albert C. Graybill Sr. and Lois G. (Miller) Graybill.
George was a U.S. veteran. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964 as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne, 325th Infantry. He worked several jobs during his life to provide for his family, but his final place of employment and the one he enjoyed the most was Milton Steel. He worked there from 1978, where he was employed as a welder and retired from the same in 2008.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 214, Jersey Shore, and he enjoyed maintaining his lawn. He also enjoyed fishing on the Susquehanna River with his children when he was younger.
George is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (Signor) Graybill; and children, Kimberly A. Daugherty (Kevin), Brenda L. Johnson, George T. Graybill Jr. (Delores), Edward C. Graybill (Lynn) and Brian K. Graybill; and his brother. David Graybill. He was proud to be a grandfather ten times over and also had numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Graybill Jr.; and sister, Katherine Graybill-DeParasis.
George provided a strong presence and guiding hand for his family and was a loving husband and supportive father to his children. His family, and beloved dog, McGruff, will miss him deeply.
As per his final requests, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
