Lawrence E. Haag
Lawrence E. Haag, 64, of Municipal Road, Berwick, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, surrounded by his family at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on June 29, 1948, in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Meirle and Lerena (Wassam) Haag.
A graduate of Curwensville High School, class of 1966, he went on to serve as an Airman in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver for Branch Motor Freight for 11 years and Consolidated Freight for 18 years, retiring from New Penn Motor. After his retirement, he worked for CareFirst Delivery for the past four years.
Mr. Haag was a member of the Loganton Fire Company, Williamsport. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Seaburn.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, the former Dale M. Rowles; two sons, Dennis Haag and his wife, Ann, of Williamsport, and William Oliver of Berwick; two daughters, Lisa Simmons of Williamsport and Pauline, wife of Aaron Kramer of Berwick; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Jane, wife of Gilbert Bennett of Milton, and Darlene, wife of Charles Smith of Falls Creek, Pa.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with the Rev. David Ney of Emmanuel Bible Chapel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1420 Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
