Rose Marie Johnson Bressler
Rose Marie “Pete” Bressler, 69, formerly of Montgomery, and most recently of Bellefonte, was born Oct. 25, 1943, and was called to be with the Lord on May 27, 2013, when she joined her Lord and Savior in eternal life and happiness.
Rose was a very strong and special wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was fortunate enough to have her for 18 years after she suffered a serious medical condition in 1995, when doctors at Hershey Medical Center renowned her as a miracle. At that time the doctors didn’t have much hope for her survival, but through strong prayers and love of her family she did in fact become an immense miracle. To know her was to love her.
She was her husband’s sweetheart for 46 years, an outstanding mother to her five children, and a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. She not only gave all her love to her family but also to all who knew her. Her entire family aches for her to be with them and will miss her special saying of “Okey-Dokey,” but rejoice in knowing she’s in the Lord’s loving arms beside her own wonderful parents.
Rose and her husband owned their catering business for 30 years and were very thankful for all the kindness from local friends and longtime customers.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Terry Bressler of Bellefonte; five children, Terry (Tracey) Bressler of Poland, Ohio, Danielle (Sonny) Deitz of Red Lion, Nicole (Levi) Shultz of Windsor, Tammy (Tobin) Hicks of Eagleville and Tadeana (DJ) Bressler of Reedsville; one brother, Cyril J. Johnson of New Columbia; five sisters, Joanna M. Johnson and Delores P. (David) Dewalt, all of Montgomery, Mary E. (Robert) McQuay of Montoursville, Monica J. Zimmerman of Lakeland, Fla., and Nancy J. (Barry) McQuay-Hackett of New Columbia; nine grandchildren, Tori Duffee, Sydney Bressler, Derrick Girouard (Alyssa Reigart), Brittany Vanover, Skylar Hicks, Dustin Bressler, Katrina Bressler, Sabrina Bressler, and Ethan Myers; and her just-recently-born great-grandson, Jionni Fairbanks.
Preceding her in death were her father, Cyril M. Johnson, and her mother, Pauline C. (Pedrazzani) Johnson.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 1, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCreary. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the I.O. Silver Foundation, 4307 S. Victoria Way, Harrisburg, PA 17112, to help raise funds to fight heart disease.
