Clifford E. Norman

Clifford E. Norman, 78, of Avis, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Jersey Shore Hospital.

He was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Beavertown, the son of Maxwell and Dessie (Zechman) Norman.

Cliff was the husband of the former Shirley Letterman, who survives.

He was proprietor of Cliff’s Exxon, formerly Mardens Inc. for over 20 years.

Cliff was a member of the LaBelle Vallee Lodge No. 232 and the Williamsport Consistory.

He sponsored Cliff’s Softball team.

Cliff enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Cindy Norman of Montoursville, Janice “Sam” (Dan) Woodward, of Jersey Shore, Christy (Robert) Fish, of Muncy; a step-son, Charles (Denise) Rice, of Cedar Run; seven grandchildren, Adam, Ben, Callie, Beth, Tyrell, Samantha, Bryn; two step-grandchildren, Theodore and Bridgett; a sister, Shirley Wolfe, of McElhattan.

He was predeceased by a sister, Betty June Marden and a brother, William M. Norman.

Relatives and friends are invited to Cliff’s Life celebration service 1 p.m. Friday at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Don Lomison officiating. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
