Douglas B. Robinson

Douglas B. Robinson, 59, of Wellsboro, passed away on Aug. 25, 2013. The son of Dr. Gerald Robinson and the late Jean Beman Robinson, Doug was born in Dubois on Nov., 3, 1953. He grew up in Lock Haven and went on to become one of the first paramedics in Wellsboro.

Doug devoted his life to helping others, earning his B.S.N. in nursing from Mansfield University. He last worked for Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College as the nurse liaison to the Behavioral Science Unit.

He was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penn State football. In addition to his passion for sports, Doug could be found listening to the music of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. However, the titles he was most proud of were that of Husband and Father. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Pat (Cumiskey) Robinson; his son, Christopher, of Wellsboro; his brothers, Kevin (Diane) Robinson, of Lancaster, Skip (Vicki) Robinson, of Finksburg, Md., and his sister, Rosemary (Lou) Winner, of Lock Haven.

A memorial mass is scheduled for noon on Saturday Aug. 31, 2013, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro. Donations can be made to the Animal Care Sanctuary of Wellsboro. Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro, Pa.
