Mary Jane Krotzer

Mrs. Mary Jane Krotzer, of Blacks Creek Road, Liberty, Pa., died Aug. 28, 2013.

Born on May 15, 1942, in Bellefonte, Pa., Mrs. Krotzer was the eldest daughter of the late James H and Jane Hazel Horner.

Mrs. Krotzer was married for 22 years to her cherished husband, Allan V. Krotzer, who survives her. She was married to her first husband, Ira F. Nienhueser, who died in 1986, for 25 years.

Mrs. Krotzer graduated from Liberty High School in 1960. She attended Penn State and graduated from Lycoming College in 1971 with a bachelor’s in English. She also received a reading specialist degree from Mansfield University in 1976. Retiring in 2004 from teaching at Liberty High School, Mrs. Krotzer, had taught many subjects over 32 years such as English, communications, reading, theater, photography and Spanish. She taught several generations of students. She also taught English at North Penn High School in Blossburg for several years where she made many lifetime friends with colleagues and students. Mrs. Krotzer loved teaching each student.

During her life, Mrs. Krotzer was a proud Girl Scout leader, PTA president, Alumni Association president, member of Friedens Lutheran Church, a church council member and on the Jackson Township Election board. Mrs. Krotzer was interested in everything. Some of her favorite hobbies were gardening, bird watching, observing wildlife and calligraphy. Her sense-of-humor and zest for life influenced all who knew her.

Surviving besides her husband are her beloved children, Natalie A. Hetzel and husband Donald, Leigh Agnoni and husband Ralph, all of Liberty, Pa.; son, Ira “Fred” Nienhueser Jr. and wife, Cheryl, of Gillett, Pa.; step-mother, Naomi Horner, of Williamsport; The joy of her life, her grandchildren, Lauren , Lucas, Olivia and Abby Agnoni, Joseph and Mary Hetzel, Ira III, Jonathan, Patrick, Emily, and Jesse Nienhueser, Nikira Taveras and Mason King; four step-children, Gene Krotzer and wife, Diane, Daryl Krotzer and wife Susan, Darla Krotzer, Connie Black and husband, Randall. One step-child, Victoria Steppe is deceased. Step-grandchildren surviving are Brad Guthrie, Heather Renninger, Sadie Steppe, Craig, Eric, Jacob, Kathleen and Jesse Krotzer, Rebecca and Nicole Black, Stacey Loudenslager, Sarah Mitstifer, Jill Pino and Jennifer Lisowski. There are also 17 step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Krotzer has five adored younger sisters and one baby brother, surviving are Margie Doebler and husband, Walter, of Williamsport, Joanna Hughes and husband David, of Warren, N.J., Gwen Hock and husband Tim, of New Columbia, Pa., Emily Fuller, of Trout Run, Lynne Koskie and husband Leon, of Williamsport, and James E. Horner and wife Karen, Trout Run. Many loved nieces and nephews survive.

And sadly Mrs. Krotzer leaves behind numerous friends. Special friends are Sandi, Mary, Roberto, Glenna, Marge, Jonathan, Jere, Laura Mae, Vic, Pam, Krrin, Marie, her Friday morning hair ladies, Romy, Donald, Carmi, Dalton, Ruth, Carol, Jimmy and Gloria.

Friends and family are invited to Mrs. Krotzer’s Life Celebration on Friday Aug. 30, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 139 Main St., Wellsboro, PA 16901 and Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Friedens Lutheran Church. Funeral to follow 11:30 a.m. at the church with Pastor Rick Adams officiating. Burial at Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.
