G. Pauline Staggert

G. Pauline (Polly) Staggert, 90, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, in the Watsontown Health Care and Rehab Center. Born in White Deer, Union County, Pa., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Winifred (Rishel) Ranck. Polly was the widow of J. Frank Staggert who preceded her in death on March 11, 2012. His death broke a marital union of over 67 years.

She was a 1940 graduate of the former Watsontown High School. Polly had formerly been employed by the former Bobbi Brooks and Myco and had last been employed by the former Montgomery Mills.

Polly was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, attending yard sales and attending family gatherings. Polly especially enjoyed driving and being chauffeured around the Staggert estate in her golf cart.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law and three daughters and two sons-in-law: Paul F. and Lorna Staggert, Harris L. and Lori Staggert, Thomas C. and Darlene Staggert, Carrol G. and Tom Budman, Gloria J. Springman, Winifred R. and Harry Bryson, all of Montgomery, Pa.; one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and William Ocker, of Northumberland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Shirley Ranck, of Watsontown and Ralph and Barbara Ranck, of Montgomery. Polly is also survived by 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Harry Bryson Jr.; her son-in-law, Lloyd V. Springman Jr.; two sisters, Thelma Bieber and Phyllis Bower; and two brothers, Arthur Ranck and Forrest Ranck.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Elimsport United Methodist Church, 16145 State Route 44 Highway, Elimsport, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, with Virginia Bailey, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, or on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The family will provide the flowers.
