Barbara Ellis Good

Barbara Ellis Good, 90, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at the Williamsport Home. She is survived by her husband, Earl A. Good. They were married in 1998 and celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary Sept. 26, 2013.

Born April 23, 1923, in West Grove, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Georgiana (Righter) Ellis.

Barbara came to Williamsport with her brother Sax in 1939. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1940. Barbara worked for Sears Roebuck from 1940 to 1952. Barbara came to live with Craig and Anna Clark in 1944, where she became “Aunt Barbara” to daughters Sally Clark Grove and Barbara Clark Sarge. She worked at Clark’s Farm Supply for many years, becoming a partner in 1969 and later retiring in 1988. Barbara was a member of Faith Christian Church. She enjoyed music and the Christian women’s club. Barbara loved her family, especially the children.

Surviving in addition to her husband Earl, are two step-sons, Earl (Lori) Good, of Palmyra and Brett (Lisa) Good, of Montoursville; two sisters, Nancy Lazarus and Francis Phillips, both of Delaware, and many nieces and nephews. She was close to nieces Carla Dayton, Byrnie Ford, and a nephew, Norman Ellis. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Morris (Juanita) Good, of Montoursville, and Albert (Gwen) Good, of Florida.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to North Central Sight Services, 2121 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
