Charles ‘Tuck’ Bidelspacher III
Charles “Tuck” Bidelspacher III passed away peacefully early Sunday Oct. 27, 2013, after having a celebratory 70th birthday dinner gathering with much of his family the evening prior. He was a resident of Elmcroft Senior Living Center at Loyalsock.
Mr. Bidelspacher was a long time resident of Williamsport and Montoursville, and a summer resident of Eagles Mere.
Mr. Bidelspacher attended Cochran Grammar School and Curtin Jr. High School and graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1962. He attended Denison University 1962-66 and American Law School until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served from 1968 to 1972 in the field of communications, spending much of his time shipboard and traveling all over Europe pole vaulting in NATO competitions.
Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Williamsport to work in his father’s law firm. In 1972, he met and married Nancy Abramo and started a family, settling in Montoursville. For many decades he was involved in and principal of the Williamsport Yacht Club along the Susquehanna River.
Mr. Bidelspacher was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly track and field and soccer, which all his sons participated in.
Mr. Bidelspacher was preceded in death by an infant son, Kyle Randall; son, Keith Abramo; infant grandson, Braxton Troy; as well as his parents Charles R. and Margery T. Bidelspacher.
He is survived by a sister, Ann T. (husband, John) Groves, of South Africa; a twin brother, Robert (wife, Elaine), of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; ex-wife, Nancy Winner; daughter, Karin Abramo (husband, Al) Randall; sons, Kyle Jason, Kristopher Casey (wife, Leslie-Ann) Bidelson, and Kirk Trevor (wife, Rachel); grandchildren, Kelsi and Zachary Randall, Kasidy, Kaden, Mason and Kira Bidelspacher; cousin, Nancy Wheeler; and nephews, Terence and Kevin Bidelspacher.
A funeral service will be held 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Friends will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers.
