Michael P. Perry

SFC Michael P. Perry, retired, of Layton, Utah, passed away Aug. 26, 2013, following a lengthy illness.

Born July 31, 1963, in Williamsport, he was the son of Ronald E. and Carol G. Johnson Perry.

Mike graduated in 1981 from Williamsport Area High School and in 1983 from the former Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in Broadcast Communications. He continued his education throughout his career and into retirement.

Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1981 following graduation, later enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country in various places including Kuwait until his retirement in 2008. During his military career, Mike received many commendations and awards for service to his country.

Mike enjoyed running, photography, music and magic, which was his passion. Mike entertained people all over the country, taught the art of magic and served as President of the Salt Lake City Magicians Union. His favorite band was KISS and he attended concerts wherever he was stationed throughout the country.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Kim (Dale) Yale and Carolyn Perry; a nephew Jacob Golbitz and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
