Sister Rosalima Robinson
Sister Rosalima Robinson, S.C.C., 89, died at Holy Family Convent, Danville, on Oct. 31.
Mary Catherine Robinson, daughter of Joseph and Rose (Haley) Robinson, was born in Germantown, Pa., on May 2, 1924.
In addition to Sister Rosalima, family members included five girls and four boys. At various times the family resided at different locations in Philadelphia and Altoona. She attended several elementary schools in Philadelphia and West Philadelphia Catholic Girls’ High School for two years. Here she became acquainted with the Sisters of Christian Charity.
She entered the religious community at Mallinckrodt Convent, Mendham, N.J., on Aug. 31, 1941. She received the religious habit on Aug. 21, 1942. First Vows were pronounced on Aug. 21, 1944, followed by Final Profession on Aug. 20, 1950.
Her entire religious life was devoted to homemaker in the various convents of the community in New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Sister Rosalima was missioned at Divine Providence Hospital for 50 years. In recent years, she also conducted many religious education classes at Mater Dolorosa Church in Williamsport and Resurrection Church in Muncy.
Sister Rosalima came to Holy Family Convent as a resident in August 2009.
Surviving family members include a sister, Theresa Koch, of Henderson, Nev., and numerous nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law, Al.
A Wake Service and recitation of the Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. tonight at the convent chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at St. Hubert Cemetery under the direction of the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville.
