David Lee Hall

David Lee Hall, 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. Born in Muncy, to the late Guy V. and Mary Catherine (Elder) Hall, he was raised in Picture Rocks. David was a graduate of Hughesville High School, Lycoming College, and Penn State University. He spent 37 years working in the soils and foundation engineering and technology field retiring in 2006 from Cumberland Geotechnical Consultants in Carlisle.

David was an active member and past president of the Cosmopolitan Club of the Capital Region (The Club That Fights Diabetes). For many years he was a Civil War re-enactor with the 42nd PVI, “The Bucktails.” He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ where he was an Elder, past president of Consistory, mentor, choir member, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 70 of Picture Rocks and as an adult was an active leader with Mechanicsburg Troop 283. David served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman 1966-1969 at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital and with the 5th Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jane Behman Hall; two sons, Steven, of Abington, and Andrew (Natalie) of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; a sister, Nancy Gieniec (Casimir), of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 at his church, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 626 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will immediately follow at Rolling Green Cemetery.
