Sandra L. Brown

Sandra L. Brown, 70, formerly of Williamsport and Trout Run, passed away early Sunday morning, Dec. 1, 2013, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.

She was born in Williamsport, March 4, 1943, a daughter of William F. and Elizabeth G. Campbell Lose. She was married to Willard B. “Brownie” Brown Sr., who passed away April 19, 2013.

She was the owner and operator of the Uptown Coffee Shop for over 30 years.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Lodge 844 and a member of the Red Run Rod and Gun Club. She enjoyed drinking beer and having fun, and loved fishing, playing cards and bingo.

Her survivors include one daughter, Patricia A. Taylor (Jeffrey), of Trout Run; one son, Rodney C. Bates, of Cogan Station; one step-son, Bernard W. Brown Jr., of Williamsport; two step-daughters, Wendy K. Coyle (Bill), of Cogan Station and Sherry A. Holmes (Daniel), of Hughesville; one sister, Evelyn T. Sholder, of Jersey Shore; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Dudak and William Lose and three sisters, Elizabeth Hudson, Mary Prastor and Catherine Lose.

In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, her Life Celebration services will be held at her family’s convenience. Contributions may be made in her name to either the Gatehouse, 1201 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701, or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

The Maneval Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” of Williamsport, is handling arrangements.
