Sylvester G. Eiswerth

Sylvester G. Eiswerth, 78, passed away at his home, in South Williamsport, on Sunday Dec. 8, 2013.

Sylvester was born in Limestone Township on Oct. 3, 1935, a son of Henry G. and Barbara E. Brunst Eiswerth.

He had retired from The West Co.; Sylvester was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening, playing cards and trips to Mohegan Sun Casino.

Sylvester was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.

His wife of 49 years, the former Althea E. Johnson, died Oct. 13, 2007.

Surviving are his daughter, Carol E. Bower, of South Williamsport and two granddaughters, Christine E. Bower, of South Williamsport and Jody L. Bower, of Henderson.

In addition to his wife, nine brothers, Paul, Carl, Emerson, Eugene, Robert, Laverne, Henry, Joseph, and Ernest Eiswerth and three sisters, Alberta Fromille, Marcella Eiswerth and Dolores Kempf all preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, with the Msgr. Stephen D. McGough officiating.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
