There will be a memorial service for Gayle Falk, 78, who died on Jan. 15, 2014, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, at Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Drive, Montoursville. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery.

Gayle Falk, 78, of 1012 Mulberry St., Montoursville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at the Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit.
She was born May 2, 1935, in West Chester, Pa., a daughter of Homer and Gladys Fuller Slater.
Gayle retired from the Montoursville School District, where she taught language arts in middle school and was the high school girl’s tennis coach. She was a member of the West Branch Tennis Club, Lymhurst Clay Courts, Muncy Hospital Auxiliary, Williamsport Herb Guild, Faith United Methodist Church and its choir.
She enjoyed knitting, calligraphy, watching sports, baking, which she was known for her lemon bars and she loved animals.
Her life revolved around her family, friends and church.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Falk Rogers.
Gayle is survived by two sons, Robert Drew (Olivia), of Denver, Colo. and David Wesley (Rodney), of New York City; a daughter, Dianne (John) Irion, of Montoursville; eight grandchildren, Amber, John, Melissa, Tessa, Jessi, Connor, Trevor and Jeremy; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
