Alexander Andy

Alexander Andy, 91, of South Williamsport, passed away surrounded by his family, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at his home.

Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Fairpoint, Ohio, he was the son of Andrea and Mary (Anonie) D’Andrea.

Alex was an Army World War II Veteran. He worked for Syntex Fabrics as a Machine operator and supervisor, later retiring from Foamex.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Ott) Andy, of South Williamsport; children, Richard “Skip” Andy, of DuBoistown, Adam Andy, of Peachbottom, Patrick (Jemai) Andy, of Salladasburg, Deanna (Robert) Evans, of South Williamsport, Brenda (John) Silverstrim, of South Williamsport, Kevin (Karin) Andy, of South Williamsport, Christopher (Rosalie) Andy, of Montoursville, Andreas (Sheri) Andy, of South Williamsport; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Alex is preceded in death by siblings, Frank, Lucy, Wanda, and Victor, and two grandsons, Joshua Andy and Eric Andy.

Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Hope Community Church, 1300 Tinsman Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Williamsport Wyrope Federal Credit Union, Alex Andy Donation Account, 1536 Riverside Drive, Williamsport, PA 17702.
