John Sagan, 85, of Linden, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2014 in Florida.
Born July 29, 1928, in Mahanoy City, he was a son of the late Casmier and Eva Wengryn Sagan.
John was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He served in the 2nd Armored Division and the Constabulary. He was a member of American Legion Post 1, V.F.W. Post 844, the Disabled American Veterans, and Forty and Eight Voiture.
John retired as an Aircraft Inspector from Textron. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and adventure. John was a member and past state President of the United Commercial Travelers of America. He was a volunteer for Special Olympics, and member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Surviving are his wife, of 55 years, Fay (Hakes) Sagan; sons, John K., of Florida, Dana P. (Erica), of Linden, Michael A., of Williamsport; a sister, Dolores Corinchock, of Drums; two grandchildren, Jason C. (Michelle), of Hawaii, Eric L., of Linden; and four great-grandchildren, Carter and Makenah, of Linden and Camden and Hanna, of Hawaii. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Henry Sagan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with Rev. Brian VanFossen officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport.
Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
