Miriam E. ‘Mim’ Weikle

Miriam E. “Mim” Weikle, 78, of Linden, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at her home. She will be dearly missed and was very loved by her friends and family.

Born July 8, 1935, in Danville, she was the daughter of Robert F. Sr. and Eleanor (Stahl) Fox.

Mim was a born again Christian and a member of Buchanan Baptist Church where she served as the treasurer of the Booster Bible Class. Prior to her retirement she worked as a home health private caregiver and was the former activities director at Presbyterian Homes in Williamsport. She loved watching birds and butterflies, taking care of her flower beds, hiking and fishing with her best friend and husband Don. Mim also enjoyed spending time at their lake cabin in Quebec, Canada, and being outdoors with her best friends, Dale and Glee.

Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Donald L. Weikle, of Linden; daughters, Autumn L. (John) Pfeiffer, of Nescopeck, and Kathleen E. Shifflet, of Williamsport; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois M. Northcott, of Littleton, Colo., Amy L. Reniewicz, of Norway, Maine, and Emily J. Skelly, of Savanna, Ga.; father-in-law, Clarence L. Weikle, of Linden; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Chris and Gary Pandolfi.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, June A. Taylor; brothers, Robert F. Fox Jr., Raymond F. Fox; sister, Mary Francis Gilbert; and mother-in-law, Eleanor M. Weikle.

In keeping with her wishes, services will be private.
