Nick Kalabacas, 79, of Williamsport, died Feb. 1, 2014, in ManorCare Health Services, North. Nick was born April 24, 1934, in Astoria, N.Y., the son of Spiro and Helen Menounas Kalabocas.
Family meant everything to Nick. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and getting together with his brother and sisters and their families several times a year for holidays. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing and was an avid Yankee Baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife, the former Susan Moyer, of Williamsport, formerly of Lock Haven; his two sons survive him, Anthony S. (Lisa) Kalabacas, of Williston Park, N.Y. and James (Ady) Kalabacas, of Whitestone, N.Y.; grandchildren, Erika Kalabacas, of Melville, N.Y., Lauran Kalabacas, of Williston Park, N.Y., Amanda Kalabacas, of Stroudsburg, Kara Kalabacas, of Williston Park, N.Y., Christina Kalabacas, James Kalabacas Jr. and Melody Kalabacas, all of Whitestone, N.Y.; and one great-grandchild, Nicholas Krinthoff, of Stroudsburg. He is also survived by a sister, Despina (Thomas) Mylonas, of Franklin Square, N.Y.; one brother, Leonidas (Elaine) Kalabacas, of Princeton, N.J.; and by numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Bessie and Peter Potaris.
Funeral services will be held at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery, Montoursville.
