Percy Thomas Green

Percy Thomas Green, 75, of Upper Chichester, passed away in the company of his family on Thursday evening, Jan. 30.

Percy was born in Ashland, Pa., but spent the rest of his life in Delco. He was a proud member of the Class of ’58 at Ridley Township High School, and continued his journey by enlisting in the United States Army. He then worked for the Boeing Company as an Instrumentation Mechanic for 26 years until he retired on disability in 1989, and was a 1069 UAW member.

Percy could be described as a man that was always on the go, or always working on some task or project. He was an informative gentleman that was constantly reading or soaking up the news. He also enjoyed gardening and classic cars. Percy loved his Eagles and Phillies, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a typical outdoors man who loved the fresh air and had passions for boating, fishing, and vacationing at the Jersey shore and the wilderness of Lycoming County.

Percy was a man who loved life, but most importantly lived it well. The true loves of his life were his cherished family and his animals. He will be truly missed by his beloved wife of 28 years, Laura (McCandless) Green. Percy was the loving father to Peter (Martha), and Thomas. Not only a great father and husband, he was a cherished grandfather to Stephanie, Nathan, and Sonia. He is also survived and missed by his siblings, Miriam DellaCamera (late James), Janet Moore (Raymond), Donald (Mary Ann); his seven nieces; four nephews; five great-nieces; and four great nephews; and too many loving cousins and friends to count.

Relatives and friends are invited to Percy’s Life Celebration on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. and will end at 8 p.m. at James F. Knoetgen of Morton, 746 Kedron Ave. (Rt. 420).

Interment will be with his parents in Trout Run Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Delaware County S.P.C.A, 555 Sandy Bank Road, Media, PA 19063. To share your fondest memories of Percy, please visit, 1-800-GIVNISH.
